Former foster children are almost 2x as likely to suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as U.S. war veterans, 65% of children in foster care experience seven or more school changes from elementary to high school, only 1.8% of former foster children complete a bachelor’s degree, employment rate of former foster children was 80.1%, 40-50% of former foster youth become homeless within 18 months after leaving care, Almost 80% of inmates incarcerated in US prisons have spent time in the foster care system.
Our mission should be to prevent children from going into foster care and to help the children already in the system to find safe and stable families.
